SPORT PEOPLE AND THEIR SALARIES

Nowadays, there are plenty of sports people who earn huge amounts of money. Do you think they deserve it? Aren't there jobs more important that are paid miserable wages?

In our society, there are crucial jobs like those related to medicine or education, and although they are very important, they don't earn as much as sports people and aren't acclaimed either. Consequently, most children wish to be like Messi, Ronaldo, or Nadal, and just a few want to be a nurse, doctor, or a teacher.

Moreover, sports people earn a lot because of the publicity they generate and the influence they have on people, especially on fanatics. This influence translates into lucrative sponsorship and advertising contracts, further increasing their earnings. However, this reality raises a fundamental question: are we correctly valuing the professions that truly sustain our society?

It's true that sports offer entertainment and excitement, and elite athletes dedicate years of hard work to reach the top. Nevertheless, the salary disparity between them and essential professionals is abysmal. While a footballer can earn millions a year, a doctor or a teacher, whose work has a direct impact on the health and future of society, often struggles to earn good salaries.

In conclusion, while it's understandable that athletes are rewarded for their talent and dedication, it's crucial that as a society we reflect on our values and priorities. We must recognize and value the work of those who contribute to the well-being and progress of everyone, and ensure they receive fair compensation and the recognition they deserve. Only then can we build a more equitable and just society.
