IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON YOUNG PEOPLE

 Since 1997 a new era has dawned, with the arrival of social media making a revolution. It has started a new kind of interaction between people from all over the world. Nowadays, social media like instagram, facebook and X are part of our lifes, specially young people and teenengers. That´s why we should ask ourselfes, Which is the impact of this invention?

A favorable factor is the facility of sharing and receving information, a group of acccounts are dedicated to share, create and edit videos, text and stories where they approach them to make tutorials, provide data of differents events and countries, among other things. furthermore,  sometimes they add links to their description which sends you to others pages with more information.

In addition, social media allows the communication of people from differents countries and states, on this way, the possibilities of meeting new cultures are closer than ever. But not everything is like a fairytail, this kind of connection is a disconnection too, why? Because users sometimes lose sight of the fact that behind the screen there is a person reading their publications, in this way, the cyberbulling was born. 

To sum up social media is an interesting and valueable, tool, that must be used in the most responsibly way. As we are able to teach, learn and connect with people, the possibities of hurt and get hurt are equal.

In modern times, the educational system has changed. The variety of careers at university has increased, and furthermore, students are able to study remotely because of the development of technology. But is this new way of teaching efficient? Online classes have allowed people to study careers that are not available in the place where they live. Sometimes, because of economic issues, they cannot choose the career of their dreams, but long-distance classes have opened a new door full of possibilities and opportunities. One negative aspect is that, since you don’t meet your classmates in person, making friends and getting to know each other is more challenging. It isn’t impossible, but it will be harder to meet face-to-face. In online classes, you might have classmates from all over the world. On the other hand, in face-to-face classes, you are constantly talking to and meeting new people, so it is easier to create bonds. “To what extent does the language we speak shape our perception of the world?

 Having watched a TED talk trying to answer the question "Does language shape our perception of the world?" made me analyse how our brain works and observe that little details make a huge difference. First of all, I must insure that the language is involved with our thought, and, you may be asking, why can I be so assured about it? Here I will give two examples to argument this posture. One explenation is the comparation with an austrialian community called Kook Thaayorre. The society is characterized by a different culture, that is why they have their own language which for example, instead of using the words right and left to get oriented, they aply another vocabulary that it is based on the use of cardanial directions. This way provide a better orientation and have the ability of get located oneself in a space.
